Meet the crew

Who you’ll deal with

Our internal team consists of professional carpenters, painters and other finish-work specialists, led by our project managers, and our crew are professionals at high-end finishes, including tile, millwork and trim. Roofing is handled by our union-trained roofers. On most jobs you’ll meet more than one of us, so here’s how the work is split.

  • Doug Stoliby, sales manager, is your first contact. When you call or request an estimate, he reaches out within 1 business day to learn about your project and set up a visit.
  • Derek Snyder, owner and CEO, writes the proposals and runs the office side.
  • Ryan Bolinger, owner and COO, runs the day-to-day work on every project. He’s been with White Rock since the very beginning.
  • Jacob Zimmerman, lead carpenter, picked up carpentry on side jobs in high school, joined the carpenters’ union and now leads our carpentry work.
  • Timmy Burgess, roofing foreman, leads our union roofing crew and runs our roof jobs on site. Jeremy is a roofer on that crew.
  • Sam Humble, crew leader, leads crews on our jobs.
  • Sara runs the paperwork, keeps everything organized and makes sure the crew gets paid.
  • Hannah Snyder runs marketing and shows what really goes on at our job sites.

How the crew runs

Every week starts with an operations meeting on Monday morning, and there’s breakfast. Jonathan, one of our carpenters, says that breakfast is his favorite part of the job. It’s also where we line up the week’s work.

The crew comes from a mix of backgrounds. Jonathan has about 10 years in the carpentry trade and says his biggest teacher has been his father. Sam went straight into the trades after earning his associate degree. Doug started out in telecommunications and plumbing, and he’ll go wherever he’s needed to get a job finished. Bryce studies construction management at Indiana State and works with us in the summers.

We price our jobs to pay the crew livable wages and to carry workers’ compensation insurance, and we don’t apologize for that. Derek says his favorite part of White Rock is the work culture. Jacob puts it this way: “Everyone can talk to anybody about anything as a friend.”

Everyone on the crew

Here’s the whole team as of October 2026, with a little about each of them.

Derek Snyder

Owner & CEO

Derek grew up in Brazil, Indiana, and graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2019 with a chemical engineering degree. He and his wife, Hannah, came home to Indiana after a few years away, and he started White Rock with Ryan. Derek writes the proposals and runs the office side. He credits Rose-Hulman for how he thinks about design and planning. He and Hannah have three daughters and live on a small hobby farm.

Headshot of Ryan Bolinger

Ryan Bolinger

Owner & COO

Ryan has worked in construction his whole life, starting on job sites before and after school and then in the carpentry trade. He co-owns White Rock with Derek and runs the day-to-day on every project: the crews, the schedule and the quality of the work. His favorite part of the job is the people he works with and leaving a home better than he found it.

Hannah Snyder

Chief Marketing Officer

Hannah grew up in Cory, Indiana, and went to Indiana State University. She traveled the country with Derek before they came home. She runs White Rock's marketing, and her goal is simple: show you real job sites and the people doing the work.

Headshot of Jacob Zimmerman

Jacob Zimmerman

Lead Carpenter

Jacob picked up carpentry on side jobs in high school and served four years in the Marine Corps. He then joined the carpenters' union and kept sharpening his skills, and now he leads our carpentry work. What he likes most about the crew: "Everyone can talk to anybody about anything as a friend." Off the clock, he hunts and fishes.

Headshot of Sam Humble

Sam Humble

Crew Leader

Sam went straight into the trades after earning his associate degree. Years of hands-on work, training and mentoring made him one of the crew leaders on our jobs. He says he feels valued here and sees room to grow. He spends his free time with his family.

Timmy Burgess

Roofing Foreman

Timmy is our roofing foreman. He leads White Rock's union roofing crew and runs our roof jobs on site, so when our crew is on your roof, Timmy is the one in charge of the work.

Jeremy

Roofer

Jeremy is a roofer on our union roofing crew, working under roofing foreman Timmy Burgess on our roof replacements and repairs.

Headshot of Doug Stoliby

Doug Stoliby

Sales Manager

Doug is usually the first person you'll hear from. When you request an estimate, he reaches out within one business day to learn about your project and set up a visit. He started out in telecommunications and plumbing and has been picking up building skills his whole life, so he knows what goes into the work he's quoting. He and his wife have six kids (and counting).

Headshot of Bryce

Bryce

Laborer

Bryce studies construction management at Indiana State University and works with the crew in the summers, getting experience on every kind of job we do. He golfs when he can.
