Gutter installation in Terre Haute

We install 6-inch gutters and downspouts on homes in Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley, with a new roof or on their own, so rain leaves the roof and gets carried away from your foundation.

Gutters are part of the roof

A roof sheds water, and the gutters decide where it goes. Without them, or with gutters that sag, leak or overflow, rain pours off the eaves and soaks the ground at the foundation. Over time that water rots fascia boards and finds its way into basements and crawl spaces.

We install gutters and downspouts on homes in Terre Haute, Brazil, West Terre Haute, Clay City, Sullivan, Clinton, Linton, Rockville and the towns around them. Our crew installs 6-inch aluminum gutters, made in one continuous piece for each run so the only joints are at corners and downspouts, in the manufacturer’s standard colors. Leaf guards are available. Gutters are part of our roofing work, so they can go on with a new roof or as a project of their own. For the rest of our roofing work, start at roofing.

What new gutters cost

New 6-inch aluminum gutters typically run $16 to $22 per linear foot, installed with downspouts. Our recent footage-priced gutter jobs came in near the low end of that range. Leaf guards add about $8 to $15 per linear foot.

We don’t price by the foot. Every proposal is built from the actual cost of your job — materials, labor, equipment, permits and overhead. The per-foot figures here are a guide to where jobs typically land, not a rate.

Two recent gutter jobs from our records:

JobTown and year
About 36 feet of 6-inch gutter on a porch, with two downspoutsTerre Haute, 2025
72 feet of 6-inch gutter in a color, installed with a new metal roofRockville, 2026

What moves the price

  • Footage. Gutters are measured along the eaves, so a long ranch or a house with a lot of corners takes more.
  • Downspouts. Each one adds material and labor, and a two-story drop is a longer run than a porch.
  • Leaf guards. Guards add material and time, at about $8 to $15 per linear foot.
  • Old gutters. Taking down and hauling off the old gutters is part of the job.
  • Fascia. Gutters hang on the fascia board. If it’s rotted, it has to be replaced before new gutters go up.
  • Height and access. A second-story eave takes more setup than a porch roof.

Your proposal is one all-inclusive price with materials, labor, cleanup, sales tax and any permit built in.

What we install

  • 6-inch aluminum gutters. Six-inch is our standard size. It carries more water than the common 5-inch gutter, which helps on big or steep roofs that send a lot of water to one corner.
  • One-piece runs. Each run is formed as one continuous piece along the eave instead of short sections joined together, so the only joints are at corners and downspouts.
  • Downspouts. We place them to carry water away from the foundation, not dump it next to it.
  • Colors. Gutters come in the manufacturer’s standard colors. Our recent jobs include white, black and colored gutters.
  • Leaf guards. Guards keep leaves and debris out of the gutter, which cuts down on clogs and overflow.

Gutters with a new roof

A new roof is a good time to replace tired gutters. When we measure your roof, we measure the eaves too, so gutter pricing can come in the same proposal as the roof. Doing both together means one proposal, one schedule and one cleanup.

See roof replacement and metal roofing. If a storm dented your gutters, see storm damage and insurance claims.

How a gutter job runs

  1. Call or request an estimate — Doug Stoliby, our sales manager, reaches out within 1 business day to talk through the project.
  2. Site visit — We measure the eaves, look at where water runs and pools now, check the fascia and plan where the downspouts go.
  3. Budget and scope — Within 5 business days you get a budget and a written scope with the footage, downspouts and options.
  4. Proposal — One all-inclusive price, e-signed in JobTread and good for 7 days.
  5. Install — We take down the old gutters, replace fascia where the scope calls for it, and hang the new gutters and downspouts.
  6. Cleanup and walkthrough — We haul off the old gutters and debris, run a magnetic sweep for stray nails and screws, and walk the job with you. A Notice of Substantial Completion starts your warranty.

Permits

In unincorporated Vigo County, gutters are on the county’s list of work that takes a Demo/Remodel permit. If your job needs a permit, we pull it, and the fee is in our price. Rules differ by town and county, so check with your city or county building department for your own project.

Small gutter jobs

We don’t take handyman calls or general repairs under about 4 hours of work. Roof repairs are a separate service and typically start around $500. Some gutter work is bigger than it sounds, too. One recent job resealed a home’s existing gutters and added guards. If you’re not sure your project is big enough, Doug will tell you honestly when he calls.

Paying, and our warranty

Gutter jobs are billed like our other short jobs: typically 75% at signing and 25% on completion. The deposit covers the gutter materials we order for your house. You can pay online through the invoice link, by check or in cash.

Our one-year workmanship warranty starts at substantial completion and covers problems that come from our installation. It doesn’t cover normal wear and tear, damage by others, or weather, like a limb that comes down on a gutter in a storm. Manufacturer warranties on the materials pass through to you, and warranty visits are scheduled within 7 business days.

★★★★★

White Rock Contracting has done several different jobs for us. Derek and his staff are knowledgeable, polite and on time. They have cleaned our gutters, replaced an exterior door and replaced rotting moulding around our doors. They are reasonably priced, come out on time and are very good at communicating about the projects.

Gutter questions

How much do new gutters cost in Terre Haute?

New 6-inch aluminum gutters typically run $16 to $22 per linear foot, installed with downspouts, and our recent footage-priced jobs came in near the low end of that range. Leaf guards add about $8 to $15 per linear foot. We quote every job after measuring.

Can you install gutters without replacing my roof?

Yes. One recent job was about 36 feet of gutter and two downspouts on a porch. If your roof is due soon, though, it’s worth pricing both together.

Do you install leaf guards?

Yes. They add about $8 to $15 per linear foot to a new gutter install, and we’ve added guards to existing gutters too.

Why 6-inch gutters?

A 6-inch gutter holds and carries more water than a 5-inch one, so it’s less likely to overflow in a heavy rain, especially below a big or steep roof. It’s our standard size.

Can you repair my old gutters instead?

Sometimes. One recent job resealed existing gutters and added guards. We don’t take handyman calls or general repairs under about 4 hours of work, and if your gutters are past saving, we’ll say so.

Do I need a permit for new gutters?

It depends on where you live. Unincorporated Vigo County lists gutters under its Demo/Remodel permit. If your job needs one, we pull it and the fee is in our price.
