Who’s on your roof
Our roofers are union-trained, which lets us take on large industrial and commercial projects as well as residential and custom roofs. Doug Stoliby, our sales manager, reaches out within 1 business day of your call or estimate request. Derek writes the proposal and handles the paperwork. Roofing foreman Timmy Burgess runs the roof.
Here’s what our roofing work covers:
- Commercial roofing in TPO, including subcontract work on new builds for out-of-town general contractors
- Brava synthetic tile with a slate or cedar shake look
- Roof replacement in architectural asphalt shingles
- Metal roofing, mostly ribbed steel panels
- Roof repair
- Storm and hail damage, with documentation for your insurance claim
- Conklin roof coatings for commercial and metal roofs
- Gutters
- Free roof inspections
One thing we don’t do is roofing in Illinois. We don’t hold an Illinois roofing license, so we’ll build a deck in Marshall or Paris but we won’t roof there. If you’d like, we’re happy to connect you with a union roofer in Illinois that we trust. In Indiana, we roof within about an hour of Terre Haute: north to Clinton, south to Sullivan, east through Brazil, Clay City and Greencastle, and down to Linton.

What a new roof costs
Residential roof replacements we’ve bid have run from $10,000 to $105,000. Commercial roofs are quoted per project. The inspection is free.

Prices checked October 2026. Every proposal is one all-inclusive price: permits and sales tax built in.
A $95,000 spread sounds like a dodge, so here’s what moves the number:
- Size. Roofs are measured in squares of 100 square feet. More squares means more material, labor and dump fees.
- Pitch. On a steep roof the crew works tied off in harnesses, which slows every course of shingles.
- Layers. Tearing off two or three old layers costs more than tearing off one.
- Decking. Soft or rotted sheathing has to be replaced. Old 1×8 board decking with wide gaps may need new sheathing so the shingle warranty holds.
- Ventilation. An attic that can’t vent cooks shingles from underneath, so any intake or exhaust fix goes in the proposal.
- Material. Architectural shingles cost less than metal or synthetic tile, and the line you pick matters too.
- Complexity. Valleys, dormers, chimneys and multiple roof levels all add hours.
Permits, tear-off and haul-off are in the price. More detail is in our roof replacement cost guide.
Commercial roofing
On flat and low-slope commercial roofs, we install TPO single-ply membrane with heat-welded seams, mechanically attached or fully adhered depending on the roof deck and the project spec, using membrane from major manufacturers. On pitched commercial roofs, we install shingles or metal panels.

Roofing subcontractor for general contractors
A good share of our commercial roofing requests come from general contractors outside the area who are building in the Wabash Valley and need a local roofing sub on new construction. We price the roof from your plans, spec and schedule, and our union-trained roofers install it.
As your subcontractor, we provide a certificate of insurance, a W-9 and lien waivers with our billing, and we bill through your pay-application process.

Brava synthetic tile
Brava makes composite roof tile from recycled plastics, molded to look like slate, cedar shake or Spanish barrel tile. It carries a Class 4 impact rating, weighs far less than natural slate, and goes on only after a full tear-off. It costs more than architectural shingles.

Roof replacement
We install architectural asphalt shingles, including Owens Corning Duration, Malarkey Vista and Atlas Pinnacle. We tear off to the decking, replace bad wood and install to the manufacturer’s instructions so their warranty applies, and our one-year workmanship warranty covers the installation.

Metal roofing
Most of the metal roofs we install are exposed-fastener ribbed steel panels, the common choice for homes and pole barns, with matching trim and sealed fasteners. Standing-seam panels, which hide their fasteners, are quoted on request.

Roof repair
Plenty of leaks don’t call for a new roof. A common one around here is wind: a few shingles lift in a storm, the seal breaks, and the next rain finds the gap. The free inspection tells you whether a repair will do or the roof needs replacing.
Most roof repairs we do run about $650 to $3,800, and small repairs such as a pipe boot start around $500. Roof repairs are their own service, so the 4-hour minimum we keep for handyman and general repair calls doesn’t apply to them.

Storm and hail damage
After a hail or wind storm, we inspect the roof, document the damage and meet your adjuster on site so they see what we saw. We never waive deductibles.

Roof coatings
We apply Conklin roof coating systems and silicone coatings to commercial flat roofs and metal roofs, choosing the system by roof type and condition. A coating goes over a sound existing roof after cleaning and repairs; it isn’t a fix for a roof that’s saturated or failing.
More on roof coatings.
Gutters
Our crew installs 6-inch aluminum gutters, made in one continuous piece for each run so the only joints are at corners and downspouts, in the manufacturer’s standard colors. Leaf guards are available. We measure the eaves along with the roof, so gutters can go in the same proposal.

How a roof replacement works
- You reach out — Call (812) 605-2560 or use the estimate form. Doug, our sales manager, gets back to you within 1 business day.
- Satellite measurements — We pull satellite measurements of your roof.
- Pricing options — We walk you through pricing options using the exact measurements: shingle or metal lines, ventilation, gutters and any extras.
- On-site inspection — Before we finalize, we check the decking, attic ventilation and flashing in person.
- Proposal — One all-inclusive proposal with the permit, tear-off and disposal built in, e-signed in JobTread and good for 7 days.
- Install day — Tear-off, decking repairs as approved, underlayment, roofing, flashing and ventilation. Your proposal carries a per-sheet price for rotted decking; if we find bad sheets, we photograph them and send a change order to your JobTread portal so you can approve them the same day. Most homes take 1 to 3 days on site.
- Cleanup and walkthrough — Daily cleanup and magnetic nail sweeps of the yard and driveway, then a final walkthrough with you.
- Warranty — Our one-year workmanship warranty, starting at substantial completion, plus the manufacturer’s warranty on the materials.
Roofing questions
How much does a new roof cost in Terre Haute?
The residential replacements we’ve bid have run $10,000 to $105,000. Size, pitch, layers, decking, ventilation and material decide where yours lands. We start from satellite measurements of your roof and confirm them at the free inspection.
Will my insurance pay for a new roof?
That depends on your policy and the damage, and the decision belongs to your insurance company. We document the damage, meet the adjuster on site and show them what we found. We never waive deductibles.
What warranty comes with a new roof?
Two warranties. The manufacturer covers the materials, and our one-year workmanship warranty covers the installation, starting at substantial completion. Ours doesn’t cover weather damage, normal wear or damage by others.
Which roofing materials do you install?
Architectural asphalt shingles, including Owens Corning Duration, Malarkey Vista and Atlas Pinnacle, metal roofing, mostly ribbed steel panels, and Brava synthetic tile. On commercial roofs we install TPO and apply Conklin and silicone coatings.
Do you do roofing in Illinois?
No. We don’t hold an Illinois roofing license, so we only roof in Indiana. If you’d like, we’re happy to connect you with a union roofer in Illinois that we trust. We do take other kinds of work in Marshall, Paris and Casey.
How do I pay for a roof?
Roofs, including insurance roofs, are typically billed 75% at signing and 25% on completion. The deposit covers the materials we order for your roof. You can pay online, by check or in cash, and financing is available through HFS, subject to credit approval.
