Home improvement financing in Terre Haute

Financing through HFS for homeowners in Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley who would rather not drain their savings for a kitchen, bathroom, roof or deck.

Paying for the project without emptying savings

A kitchen remodel or a new roof is a big check. Some homeowners pay cash. Others, from Terre Haute to Brazil and Sullivan, would rather leave their savings alone and pay over time. For them, we offer financing through HFS Financial.

The split is simple. HFS handles the financing: the application, the approval, the rates and the terms. We handle the building.

What people use it for

  • Doing the whole job at once. A kitchen or bathroom done in one project means one round of demolition, dust barriers and inspections instead of several.
  • A roof that can’t wait. A leak doesn’t hold off while you save for another year, and every month of water getting in can mean more rotted decking to replace.
  • Better materials. The choice between treated lumber and composite decking, or between a basic vanity and the one you actually want, sometimes comes down to cash on hand. Spreading the cost can put the longer-lasting option within reach.
  • Keeping a cushion. Plenty of people would rather keep money in the bank for whatever the year throws at them.

One honest note: borrowing usually costs something. If you can pay comfortably from savings without leaving yourself short, that’s often the cheaper route. Financing makes the most sense when paying cash would empty your cushion or push a needed project off another year.

How to apply

  1. Get our numbers first — Your proposal gives you one all-inclusive price, which tells you how much to apply for.
  2. Apply with HFS — Start an application online through the HFS link on this page. Financing is provided by HFS and subject to credit approval.
  3. Review your terms — If you’re approved, HFS shows you the amount, rate and terms it can offer, and you decide whether to accept them.
  4. Sign and schedule — Once your financing is settled, you e-sign our proposal in JobTread and we put your project on the schedule. Proposals are good for 7 days, so it helps to apply as soon as you have our numbers.

Straight answers on rates, credit and price

What are the rates and monthly payments?

We don’t publish them. Rates, terms and payments come from HFS and depend on your application, so any sample payment we printed here could be wrong for you. You’ll see your own offer from HFS before you accept anything.

Does applying affect my credit?

That’s a question for HFS. How it reviews applications is up to HFS, so ask them before you apply rather than rely on our guess.

Does financing change your price?

No. You can apply for financing online through HFS, subject to credit approval, and the project costs the same as it would if you paid cash.

How does financing fit your payment schedule?

The payment schedule in your proposal stays the same. Short, single-trade jobs are typically billed 75% at signing and 25% on completion. Remodels and design/build projects are 25% at signing, 25% on the first day of work, 25% at rough-in (after the rough-in inspection is completed, or when drywall is ready to begin), 15% at substantial completion and 10% after the punch list. Once HFS approves you, we’ll go over how its funding lines up with those payments before you sign.

Other ways to pay

You don’t have to finance. Checks, cash and online payment through the QuickBooks link on your invoice all work. Our full price ranges are on the pricing page, and the step-by-step process is on how we work.
